The Portals of Beksinski

“I wish to paint in such a manner as if I were photographing dreams”

Zdzisław Beksiński

“In the medieval tradition, Beksinski seems to believe art to be a forewarning about the fragility of the flesh– whatever pleasures we know are doomed to perish– thus, his paintings manage to evoke at once the process of decay and the ongoing struggle for life. They hold within them a secret poetry, stained with blood and rust.”

  1. Namaste 🙂

All things thought-provoking which stand on the edge of reason inspire: these images are hauntingly beautiful: almost hypnotic.

Another excellent post. Thank you 🙂

Del Toro is a favourite film-maker: an excellent quote.

    Namaste 🙂

    • Thank you Dewin. This limited selection of his work does suggest a dimension of depth of space which is why i liked them. I’m glad you were moved so.

Thank you, indeed I was moved: the artist I will explore further.

I’m working up courage to pass through the portal in a poem I’m writing: my pen lingers in the moment poised (or is it paused) waiting on the turn of a tap. These wonderful visions are dreams alive with hope and chance of new discovery. Your post is timely as always.

Thank you. Have a wonderful week.

        Namaste 🙂
