The Moon and Remedios

It could be argued that most of Remedios Varo’s paintings take place at night illuminated by the moon,  or at least by the appearance of some mysterious source of light. She is one of my favorite painters and as the moon appears full tonight I am reminded of her. These are just a few examples of her work (click on images for larger samples) where the lunar presence points to a deeper mystery.
